Fostering Student Success on STAAR Redesign
OVERVIEW
STAAR will be shifting towards more innovative, interactive item types with less emphasis on traditional multiple-choice assessment. Participants in this engaging session will not only learn about new item types, but also how to use strategies that prepare students for the level of thinking and skills needed to be successful on the new STAAR. We will also share ready-to-use writing strategies to prepare for constructed response items in science.
DESCRIPTION & OBJECTIVES
This session can be customized for a 5th grade, 8th grade, or Biology audience, or it can be done with a mixed grade-level audience. The session includes information on item types for STAAR Redesign, examples of activities that include these types of tasks, and time to reflect on how to better align current instruction with new assessment needs.

Up to 50 teachers per session
We provide all training materials and a booklet for each participant. Each attendee will also receive a digital download of all resources used in training with a single-teacher license to use the materials with their students.
