Engaging the Gifted Learner: Differentiating Learning in Science

OVERVIEW

This focused session will deal with differentiated curriculum and instructional strategies to address the needs of GT learners in the science classroom. The training will model strategies that target gifted students in understanding abstract concepts, utilizing critical reasoning skills while promoting interdisciplinary connections to support and develop high ability skills via research-based models.

DESCRIPTION & OBJECTIVES

In this session, participants will:

•Consider the research concerning best practices for differentiation in the elementary classroom
•Experience a sample lesson that models the key components of differentiation
•Reflect on how to implement these best practices in the classroom

6-hour or 3-hour session

Up to 50 participants per session

We provide all training materials and a booklet for each participant. Each attendee will also receive a digital download of all resources used in training with a single-teacher license to use the materials with their students.
